My Experience in English Class

**** Now I got the opportunity to took a class the will count as a college class and also I will get college credit for taking this class. Well I am taking English, for me I think this class help me alot with my language because I'm still learning English and this is a way to practice my English.

**** The teacher's name is Sheila Rocha, she is a nice teacher and a great person, too. One thing that I like from her is that she make us to feel with a lot of confidence with ourselves and with her. She always is trying to explain the things very well so we can get it, also I like when she explain the things in English and then in Spanish so that is so helpful for the people like me who speak English and Spanish, so you can understand on some way or the other.

**** This class is an English class but sometimes it become a little of all classes, because she sometimes began to talk about history things, for example things about culture, ancestors from our countries and about the Indians in Mexico and from anothe place, too.

***** This class is really fun and it has been a great experince for me on the way that I have learned many things about all around the world. Everyone is nice and and we always trying to be helpful with each other and when got to work together we always give the best of us.

My Experience In The Carear Shadowing

** My carear shadowing was on Monday 7/2008, from 11:30 - 2:00. I went down to the Lutheran Family Services this officeses are specialist on Immigration cases. Down there I met the representative of the Lutheran Family Services her name is Rosa Ortiz, she is really nice and an interesting person. Also I met a really nice lady who took her time to explain to me about the law of immigration and to give me a tour around the office her name is Kimberly Smith, she is Rosa's assistant.
** I really learned many things about the law of immigration, I already knew some things but I learned many knew things. For example one thing that I learned was about the law 1-30, this means when someone ask for a petition to someone else so they can get the green card or a kind of permit to be in the United States.
** Also I learned how to file some documents asking for a petition or for refugees. I looked some the files of Rosa's clients and it was very interesting to read those documents about all those people who are asking for an opportunity to become a resident of the United States.
** Another thing was when I got to listen of some of the calls the people made to them for ask about their case or asking for a copy of some paper. Also I got to read some of the books that Rosa uses when she is working with some case, those books were really intersting for me because there in the books are many things or ways that show how to work with the different kinds of numbers law.
** I was intersting in becoming a immigration attorney, but after learning new things and talk with people who have experience in this wonderfurl job I just took a decision, now I know that this is my thing and I want to become a Immigration lawyer or just like Rosa a BIA (Accrdited Immigration Specialist) this means that she can help with everything in your immigration case but she can not help in court but she may help you to find a really good attorney.

Journal # 2

** The most important achiviement that I have is learning English and always studying hard to get good grades. I have about 3 years learning English in Bryan High School. I took a lot of ESL classess also I like to have communication with people who speaks only English so I learn more. One thing I hope is to learn well English so I can speak it better.

** The most important issue for me is immigration, because all people should have the same rights and the same opportunity to study and become someone important in the world, for example the students should have the same help with scholarships don't matter is they are legal or illegal. I think that education is important to all citizens so they can learn about the life and the world also because with education they can have a better way to live and their lifes will be more easy.

** The people that have been an influence for me are those that are with me every day, those who always care about my life, about my grades in school and about everything that I do everyday. Those who always want to give the better for me, everything that they couldn't have in the past, but now I can have it. Those who always give me money for buy everything I want , and also those who love me very much. Also those people whoput all their courage so I can study hard and have a high education and get a better life, those who will help me throughout college to get good grades and be responsible with everything.

** The school that I want to go is to UNO, because it is a great school and always is helping student on different ways. Also because I already know some of the roles for UNO and it will be more easy for me going to the university. This time that I have coming here I have learned many things about how communication with other people is important. Another thing is that I have learned about scholarships and how to apply for college also a really important thing for me that I have learned is how to ask for a letter of recomendation.
